Sexual violence and rape have been a long-standing issue across the world, affecting individuals of all genders, ages, and backgrounds. This chapter will discuss the international efforts in preventing sexual violence and rape, including the legal frameworks, policies, and initiatives that have been implemented to address this problem. Sexual violence and rape are widespread problems that affect people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds globally. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the need for international efforts to prevent and address these issues. Various initiatives and campaigns have been launched by international organizations to raise awareness about sexual violence and rape, advocate for policy changes, and provide support for survivors. For example, the UNiTE campaign aims to end violence against women by implementing policies and programs that prevent sexual violence and rape, and by providing resources and support to survivors. In addition to international efforts, individual countries have implemented policies and initiatives to address sexual violence and rape. These measures often involve providing education and awareness-raising programs, supporting survivors, and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions. This paper throws light upon such endeavours at the international platfroms by the way of treaties, conventions, declarations etc. The paper also deals with the analysis of the municipal laws concomitant to the international instruments.
