The Significance of Traditional Knowledge of the Linguistic Pattern of the Lotha Naga Tribe, Nagaland

Abstract	In Nagaland ,Lotha Naga tribe's traditional cultural, ecological and cosmological wisdom is conserved in the language patterns. This study reflects on the intricate entanglement of relationships among the Lotha language and its role in preserving the legacy of the Lotha people through the prism of oral traditions, intergenerational transmission and unique linguistic features. In this article, secondary sources have been used to demonstrate that the Lotha language is a manifestation of the spiritual beliefs, social values and traditional agricultural practices by the Lotha people. It also explores the challenges that language changes and globalisation have initiated and the fact that preservation efforts are highly necessary. To maintain cultural continuity and improve the linguistic diversity, the findings show that it is important to retain the Lotha tongue heritage. To appease this allegedly threatened language heritage into the generations to come, we propose community based campaigns, school integration and additional research.
