| Abstract | Cottage industries have historically played a significant role in sustaining the livelihoods of tribal communities by providing employment, preserving indigenous skills, and fostering self-reliance. In the context of increasing industrialization and globalization, tribal cottage industries face both opportunities and challenges. This conceptual research paper examines the role of cottage industries in enhancing tribal livelihoods, focusing on income generation, employment creation, socio-cultural preservation, and empowerment. Drawing on existing literature, the study identifies key factors influencing the growth and sustainability of cottage industries in tribal regions. The paper highlights existing research gaps and proposes a conceptual framework to understand the linkage between cottage industries and tribal livelihood security. The study concludes with policy implications and suggestions for strengthening cottage industries as a tool for sustainable tribal development. |
