| Abstract | The widespread adoption of digital and social media in modern society has transformed communication and information sharing, having a significant impact on people's daily lives. This study explores the intricate connection between people's stress levels and their use of digital and social media. These platforms are becoming essential components of contemporary life, so a thorough investigation of their impact on mental health is necessary. Utilizing a qualitative methods of research methodology, the study integrates perspectives from communication studies, sociology, and psychology to explore the ways in which digital and social media usage exacerbate stress. Various literature available on the subject like research articles are studied and a comprehensive review has been presented in this study. The study looks for trends and connections between media consumption habits and self-reported stress levels using a mix of surveys, interviews, and content analysis. It also looks at how individual difference ike personality traits and coping mechanisms modify the association between stress and media intake. It is anticipated that the results of this study will offer insightful information to individuals, mental health practitioners, and legislators. It is essential to comprehend the complex interactions between stress and digital/social media in order to create well-informed tactics that reduce negative effects and encourage better online activity. In the end, this study adds to the expanding corpus of research on the relationship between technology and mental health, promoting a more nuanced comprehension of the influence that digital and social media platforms have on the stress environment in modern society. |
